11月8日、今日はお昼過ぎに京都高島屋へ行ってきました。現在、京都高島屋百貨店の屋上特設会場では、「餃子村 in 京都」が開催されています。

京都・大阪・東京の人気餃子店が一堂に集まるという触れ込みを聞き、「これは行くしかない！」と思い、早速足を運びました。屋上に着くと、思わずテンションが上がります。会場では、チケットを1枚700円で購入し、そのチケットと引き換えに好きなお店の餃子一皿と交換できるシステム。まずは「祇園炭火焼き鳥 かんざし」さんの餃子を選んでみました。お店は東山区の花見小路近くにあるそうです。

いただいた餃子は5個入りで、塩コショウがふられており、外は香ばしく中はジューシー。ひと口食べると、肉汁と風味が広がり、思わず笑顔になってしまいました。欲をいえば、タレでも味わってみたかったですが、それでも満足の一皿でした。続いて、もう一枚チケットを購入して「銘特屋 匠」のしそ餃子もいただきました。お店は南区上鳥羽にあるそうです。しその爽やかな香りが口の中にふわっと広がり、さっぱりとした味わいがクセになります。こちらも文句なしの美味しさで、思わずもう一皿欲しくなるほど。

会場ではちょうどイベントステージも行われていて、ライブやダンスパフォーマンスが披露されていました。私は知らなかったのですが、有名な方も出演されていたようで、会場は終始賑やか。ビールを片手に餃子を味わいながら、ライブを楽しむ、そんな土曜日の午後らしい贅沢なひとときを過ごすことができました。

Enjoying “Gyoza Village in Kyoto” at Kyoto Takashimaya — Delicious Dumplings and Live Entertainment on an Autumn Afternoon

On November 8, I visited Kyoto Takashimaya just after noon. The department store’s rooftop was hosting a special event called “Gyoza Village in Kyoto”, bringing together popular gyoza shops from Kyoto, Osaka, and Tokyo. When I heard about it, I thought, “I have to go!” and headed straight there. Reaching the rooftop, my excitement immediately spiked.

The event uses a ticket system: each ticket costs 700 yen, and you can exchange one ticket for a plate of gyoza from any participating shop. I started with gyoza from Gion Sumibi Yakitori Kanzashi, a restaurant located near Hanamikoji in Higashiyama Ward.

The plate came with five gyoza, lightly seasoned with salt and pepper. Crispy on the outside and juicy inside, each bite released a burst of flavor that brought an instant smile to my face. I did wish I could have tried them with dipping sauce, but even on their own, they were thoroughly satisfying.

Next, I bought another ticket and tried the shiso gyoza from Meitokuya Takumi, a shop in Kamitoba, Minami Ward. The refreshing aroma of shiso spread in my mouth, giving the dumplings a light, addictive taste. These were also delicious—so good, in fact, that I almost wanted another plate right away.

Meanwhile, the event stage was in full swing, featuring live music and dance performances. I didn’t realize beforehand, but it seemed that some well-known performers were also participating, keeping the atmosphere lively throughout. I spent the afternoon enjoying gyoza and beer while watching the performances—a truly indulgent way to spend a Saturday in autumn.
